Based in Qld and NSW and founded by a home automation specialist and engineer, we bring a unique integrated perspective to renewable energy projects. We truly believe the "Smart" in the term "Smart" home does not only imply intelligence, but also good looking. Renewable energy just does not have to be utilitarian functional.
At its core Cactii designs and builds, or can arrange for renewable power systems and integrated automations. While renewable energy is an important economic sustainability "leg", energy use should also be more efficient. This can be via simple lifestyle changes or "smart" automations synchronizing the use of your energy and the "peaky" surpluses that come from renewable energy.
Our home automation, whether bespoke top end or our own integrations specifically tie into energy efficiency systems and our cloud based backend. Think of your air-conditioner or floor heating turning on to take advantage of surplus power.

For those that want to take renewable energy a step further, Cactii also has an initiative to combine different neighborhood systems (including apartment blocks) to set-up and operate communities for the trading of surplus renewable and stored energy. This allows for the person-in-the street to locally pool and trade energy within those communities. Some might even wish to actively invest in additional generation.

Cactii encourages communities of interest and "self help" as a series of loosely affiliated not-for-profit power cooperatives. These are guided by the local community with management support provided by Cactii.

The forgotten essential
Most people bury their heads in the sand. Solar is regarded as something to install and forget until it breaks down or becomes hazardous. Cockatoos love chewing on cables or debris just builds up under panels and get hot.

Please talk to us about a maintenance program, or upgrades to your system. Whether this be a cleaning of panels to remove lichen and other "hotspot" inducing soiling, or for a wiring check. We are also very happy to come in and upgrade your system. Technology and regulation has substantially moved on in the last few years.

As part of the community initiative we are also trying to build community teams to lend a hand to others in the community. Often they just need to remove leaves and debris from panels.

Your way to trade Energy
We can enroll you in or create an energy cooperative in your area. This enables you to sell your excess energy to the cooperative pool or just buy energy from the pool at better rates. If you want, it can become your business - put in renewable and storage and make the investment pay off.
We also coordinate investment in community-center energy generation so all can use a vacant roof area.
